**Responsibilities and Duties**

**Key Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Project Manger, the Construction Superintendent will be responsible for daily work planning and efficient management of resources for a variety of commercial and residential projects. The Superintendent will ensure that projects are constructed on schedule, according to plans and specifications, while strictly adhering to all zoning/building bylaws and all health and safety regulations.

**Supervision**:

- Provide leadership and supervision to all construction workers, subcontractors, suppliers, and visitors to site.
- Coordinate sub-trades for smooth and continuous progress and monitor workmanship and materials.
- Supervise and provide instruction to own forces, review and approve time sheets.

**Communication**:

- Report any drawing or specification discrepancies to the Project Manager.
- Liaise with sub-trades, architects, engineers, and suppliers to ensure prompt resolution of problems.
- Prepare daily job logs documenting all on-site activities.
- Provide management with instructions for preparation of Change Orders as directed by Clients.

**Health & Safety**
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies, procedures and practices.
- Ensure all on-site personnel are following all safety regulations and company policies.
- Schedule and document regular safety meetings.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- 5 years experience in Construction Supervision.
- Multi level family experience required.
- A working and technical knowledge of commercial and residential construction process and all major trades.
- Familiarity with city approvals, building codes and inspection requirements.
- Computer proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Valid Class 5 License and access to a vehicle.
- Certified construction and safety related training considered an asset.
