Toptable Group’s Whistler restaurants (Araxi Restaurant + Oyster Bar and The Cellar by Araxi, Bar Oso, Provisions and Il Caminetto continue to evolve in the pursuit of excellence, each venue has received significant critical acclaim, both locally and internationally.

Toptable Group is seeking a Group Sales & Events Manager in Whistler, BC. This individual will be responsible for coordinating all group bookings and private events at our Whistler restaurants; Araxi + the Cellar by Araxi, Bar Oso and Il Caminetto. The Group Sales and Events manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of private event sales, planning, and execution for a venue with multiple studios and event spaces. This role involves a significant sales component, as well as strong organizational and leadership skills.

**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Group Sales & Events Manager is responsible for driving private event revenue across our Whistler properties through strategic sales, client relationship management, and flawless event execution. This role oversees the full event lifecycle—from initial inquiry and proposal to post-event follow-up—ensuring exceptional guest experiences and client satisfaction.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

Sales & Client Development_**
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets
- Qualify incoming inquiries and respond promptly and professionally
- Conduct site tours, highlighting venue features and capabilities
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and cultivate repeat and referral business
- Collaborate with marketing to identify new opportunities (e.g., networking, digital outreach, social media campaigns)

Event Planning & Execution_**
- Serve as the main client liaison throughout the planning process
- Coordinate all event logistics, including menus, floor plans, timelines, and special requests
- Manage private dining and group bookings in coordination with culinary and operations teams
- Oversee on-site and off-site event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring brand standards and safety compliance

Administrative & Financial Oversight_**
- Create proposals, negotiate contracts, secure deposits, and manage payment schedules
- Track event profitability and prepare financial reports
- Maximize revenue through strategic upselling and cross-selling
- Maintain organized client records, contracts, and documentation
- Use event management software (e.g., TripleSeat) for booking, BEOs, and sales tracking

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 1 years’ in a previous sales role is required
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant hospitality experience
- Post-secondary level of education or relevant hospitality degree is an asset
- Previous experience in event planning is an asset
- An excellent communicator
- Must have a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and service
- A strong understanding of and a passion for food and wine
- The ability to think independently; possess good judgment and problem solving skills
