Jewellery Production Assistant

Blue Ruby Jewellery is a retail fashion accessories business showcasing both local and internationally acclaimed jewellery designers. We have 10 retail locations throughout the Lower Mainland; our Head Office and Distribution Centre are situated in Vancouver. Our employees are our most important gems and we are currently seeking a Jewellery Production Assistant to assist in the areas of jewellery design, production and repair work. As Jewellery Production Assistant you pay attention to the finer details and possess the ability to consistently produce finished pieces that meet high quality standards. Reporting to the Production Manager, you work well in a team setting, have strong verbal and written communication skills and are capable of prioritizing tasks, including time management skills to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Jewellery Production Assistant Requirements:

- Experience working with fine wire and pliers.
- Experience and skill in wire wrapping techniques for gemstones and beads.
- Experience in multiple bead stringing and weaving techniques.
- Skills in finishing methods or closures for necklaces, bracelets and earrings including jump-ring assembly.
- Understands the qualities of precious stones, semi-precious stones, crystals and pearls.
- Understands the qualities and grade of metals such as gold, silver and brass.
- Knotting and macramé skills are an asset.
- Ability to maintain an organized work space for supplies, samples and orders.
- Ability to maintain adequate quantity of supplies to fulfill orders and repair requirements.
- Jewellery Design education is preferred.
- Understanding and awareness of fashion jewellery trends is an asset.
