As a System and Instrumentation Technologist, you are tasked to provide customers service solutions to address critical rotating machinery assets, protection, and monitoring system.
As a System and Instrumentation Technologist, you will be responsible for:
- Testing and validating of equipment, facility or plant in accordance to the design objectives or specifications for operational use.
- Handles targeted clients. Contracts are predefined and a framework of conditions is set and followed.
- Installing and commissioning Bently Nevada hardware and software in a wide variety of machine types encountered in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Pulp & Paper, and other process industries.
- Assuring the service is executed in a timely manner and in accordance with the customer's schedule.
- Understanding contractual commitments and scope of work.
- Coordinating different personnel and groups involved in the service execution.
- Installing transducers and configure monitoring systems.
- Identifying problems and taking the initiative to eliminate those problems for project/service success.
- Performing installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Bently Nevada Hardware and Software Products and Solutions at customer locations.
- Completing standard service reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements timely.
- Driving customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.
- Supporting the growth initiatives of the business.
**Fuel your passion**
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Services).
- Be available for extensive travel, up to 70%, and to work significant over-time.
- Possess a valid driver's license and passport.
**Desired Characteristics**
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel.
- Have an electronics and/or mechanical trouble shooting skills. “Hands-on approach”.
- Be a self-starter with mínimal supervision requirement; Experience working independently; Experience prioritizing, organizing work, and meeting deadlines.
- Experience setting/meeting aggressive targets and working under stressful working conditions.
- Have knowledge of rotating machinery operation and controls systems.
- Have familiarity with tools including but not limited to: Bently Nevada TK-Series Test Kits, Thermocouple Calibrator, RTD Calibrator, handheld DMM, function generator, power supply, oscilloscope, basic hand tools (training available as needed).
- Have experience reading, interpreting, and understanding mechanical and electrical prints.
- Have experience using AutoCAD
