CASUAL - TECHNICIAN, DISTRIBUTION OPERATIONS - LEDUC (full time up to 10 months)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Hourly Wage Range: $34.20 to $41.06
This is a casual full time position required for a period of up to 10 months.
As a casual full time employee, you’ll play an integral role in the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of our natural gas pipeline systems, related facilities and associated equipment. You will safely and efficiently install, alter and repair natural gas pipeline systems, related facilities and associated equipment. You will be trained to prepare and respond to natural gas related emergencies. In addition, you will complete reports and document activities as required by regulations and perform other duties as assigned.
The major duties and responsibilities associated with the position include but are not limited to:
- Efficiently operating and maintaining natural gas pipeline systems;
- Ensuring all required documentation is completed on time as required by regulations;
- Responding to natural gas related emergencies;
- Performing construction tasks as per policies and procedures; and
- Representing the Company to customers and the public.
Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Gas Utilities Operator course*;
- Three years in a related field, of which one year involves performing the operations functions of a natural gas utility*;
- Valid Province of Alberta Class 5 driver’s license;
- Ability to perform all necessary physical requirements;
- Mechanical aptitude and dexterity when using tools, equipment and instruments;
- Good communication skills, decision making skills and a strong work ethic;
- Ability to establish good working relationships and provide excellent customer service;
- Proficiency working with various computer software systems including Microsoft Office suite;
- Good judgment and maintain motivation and performance when working independently and;
- Safe work habits and adherence to safety regulations.
