Supervisor of Automation Machine Construction

We are currently looking for an Experienced **Supervisor of Automation Machine Construction** to join our team. The Automation Machine Construction Supervisor oversees and directs the Build Leaders and their teams to ensure the production of high-quality products within specified timelines, meeting or exceeding customer expectations. They interact with the Engineering Department to review and provide input for new projects and are responsible for scheduling and planning department resources based on workload. The supervisor collaborates with various department heads, including Manufacturing, Controls, Electrical, and Metrology, to coordinate and schedule required resources. Additionally, they work closely with Human Resources for staffing, employee development, training, and relations, including hiring, goal setting, and performance reviews.
**Requirements**:
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license and Canadian Passport
- Ability to travel to and within Canada, USA, and Mexico
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Directing Build Leaders and their teams to ensure the production of high-quality products, meeting or surpassing customer expectations, and adhering to specified timelines.
- Collaborating with the Engineering Department to review and provide input for all new projects, ensuring seamless integration of automation processes.
- Managing the scheduling and planning of department resources based on workload requirements, in coordination with internal Manufacturing, Controls, Electrical, and Metrology Department Supervisors.
- Interacting with Human Resources for staffing needs, employee development, training, and relations, including hiring, goal setting, performance reviews, and salary evaluations.
- Monitoring and optimizing department efficiency by tracking budgeted and consumed hours, and continuously seeking improvement opportunities.
- Communicating project completion statuses to Program Managers and ensuring stock levels of consumables, tooling, and other supplies are maintained.
- Providing constructive feedback to the Engineering Department to enhance manufacturing and assembly practices.
- Managing and coordinating offsite teams for equipment installation, commissioning, and servicing, and leading internal equipment buy/run-offs with Program Managers and Customers.
- Conducting training and mentoring of staff as required, and participating in collaborative meetings to support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring maintenance of a safe, orderly, clean, and organized work environment.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- In-depth expertise and direct involvement with Secondary Equipment, Special Machines, Automation, and Robotics for Automotive Plastic Parts and Assemblies.
- Proficiency in Ultrasonic Welding, Adhesive Bonding Systems, Punching, Drill/Route, Fastener Assembly, and Vision/Inspection/Test Systems.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in Machine and Automation assembly, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the field.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude with proficient troubleshooting capabilities.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes including Machining, Grinding, and Fabrication.
- Familiarity with Controls, Pneumatic, and Fluid Control Systems.
- Proficiency in GD&T, product prints and specifications, and blueprint reading.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD software would be beneficial.
- Previous experience as a Build Leader, Senior Builder, or in a supervisory role would be advantageous.
Pay: Up to $120,000.00 per year
