**How does the role impact the organization?**

This position provides leadership and experience across all network infrastructure and security technologies and configurations within Secure Network Services (SNS). This position will serve as a critical leadership position within SNS as a Manager for the Global Engineering Function Vertical and will assist in the global business expansion and allow for the adoption of network security fundamentals across the different segments of Raymond James. The Manager position serves as a central leader for the Security and Networking teams. The day-to-day operations, management, governance, and direction for network infrastructure, telecom services, boundary protection, as well as physical layer infrastructure required to support the Raymond James Enterprise. This position is critical to the future sustainment of current capabilities as well as the development of future security-related requirements including additional security features on current and future hardware and the conduct of internal network packet analysis.

**What will your role be responsible for?**
- Identifies, evaluates, develops opportunities for process improvement, training, and awareness materials to educate users on security policies and practices.
- Implements department policies and procedures; reviews for relevance and monitors associates to ensure compliance.
- Ensures team members maintain the necessary documentation for assigned systems, projects, and tasks.
- Acts as intermediary and facilitator to help resolve ongoing and/or complex technical issues.
- Creates team goals that align with the Information Technology (IT) and IT Security strategies.
- Manages the daily workload and distributes assignments to associates based on varying skill sets and abilities.
- Supervises project work by the team. Plans, assigns, monitors, reviews, evaluates, and leads the work of associates.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

**What do we expect from you?**

**_ To qualify for this opportunity you possess:_**
- Knowledge of current Raymond James enterprise technologies (Akamai, Cisco, Arista, F5, Palo Alto, ForeScout)
- SD-WAN/SASE/NGFW/VPN/NAC/DDoS/WAF/DNS/Cloud Network Security/Automation
- Ability to coordinate multiple actions across a diverse team to ensure that the Raymond James mission of client first culture is paramount.
- Knowledge of the first four layers of the OSI model.
- Knowledge of current network security best practices, from a methodology and framework standpoint as well as the ability to configure (or oversee) configurations of these types on architecture.
- Experience in conducting personnel reviews and willing to hold personnel accountable as required.
- Willing to take responsibility for his/her team and the actions taken by the team.
- Knowledge of the incident management/response process to support network/system outages and recover from said outages as soon as possible.
- Familiarity with commercial circuit utilization and the ability to coordinate actions across multiple vendors to support during times of crisis.
- Network design principles to participate in all network design activities, providing security-specific guidance to the process.
- Firewall and perimeter protection technologies sufficient to implement state-of-the-art network protection systems and develop and expand perimeter decoy and monitoring systems.
- Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.
- Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
- Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; recommend or take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.

**Education/Previous Experience**:

- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer
