**Payroll & Accounting Administrator**
**(full-time permanent position)**
**Location: London, Ontario**
**VB&S** provides structural consulting services to Architects, Owners and Institutions. Our projects include high-rise apartment buildings for some of the largest developers in Southern Ontario, university & college buildings, recreation centres, schools, and more.
**VB&S** was incorporated nearly 30 years ago. We have developed a system that provides high quality analysis, design and contract documents. We provide a design that is economical and efficient. Many of our clients consider VB&S to be one of the top structural engineering firms that they have worked with.
**Salary**:
- **$50,000 to $65,000, commensurate to experience and skillset**
**Responsibilities**:
- Payroll, related government remittances
- Basic bookkeeping including journal entries, bank reconciliations
- Client invoicing and collections
- Vendor payables and payments
- Timesheet entry, job reporting
- Employee paperwork such as benefit enrolment, vacation tracking and hiring packages
- Office equipment and supplies administration
- Reception
- Preparing project proposals with engineering staff
- Maintaining marketing materials and social media content (regular basis)
- Organizing company social events
- Assisting principals as needed
**Education**:
- 2-year College Diploma in Accounting
**Work Experience**:
- Minimum 3 years general accounting/book-keeping and payroll experience
- Hands on experience using Quickbooks
- Intermediate-to-advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

- Ability to understand customer needs and expectations and provide excellent customer service directly and indirectly to satisfy expectations
- Possesses a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
- Positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
- Demonstrated analytical ability with a working knowledge of accounting principles
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to complete proposals and reports, and update social media content
- Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines and adapt to growth and change
- Self-driven, independent thinker who is highly motivated and possesses an intrinsic passion for quality
- Ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, peers and external stakeholders
