- We currently have an opening for a Production Supervisor based out of our location in Richmond, BC. The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production function of the organization and the supervision of the operations team over a three-shift schedule.
- The Production Supervisor will report directly to the Converting Superintendent and will be responsible for the following:
**Duties include**:
- Manages any security or safety issues that arise on a day-to-day basis and ensures that issues are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Directs, redirects, coaches and trains employees to ensure Company policies, practices and procedures are followed, holding to the Collective Agreement.
- Ensures that all products produced meet or exceed customer specifications, makes decisions on acceptability of products to hold/release.
- Ensures that all maintenance issues that could impact safety, quality and efficiencies are brought to the attention of the maintenance department so they can be dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Communicates regularly with personnel to maintain a high level of engagement.
- Maintains/manages production recordings.
- Actively participates in Health & Safety, including conducting safety meetings with crews, upholds safety policies and procedures, safety training, accident investigations and follow up items.
- Supervises vacation time and makes recommendations to Management on manning levels and possible areas of improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications and requirements for the position**:
**Experience**:
- A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience is required.
- Experience within a unionized manufacturing environment; manufacturing, packaging or printing experience is appreciated.
- Manufacturing environment knowledge of safety/safe work procedures, equipment/maintenance, and process/workflow, machine and headcount scheduling.
- Lean manufacturing experience is an asset.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes & products, preferably in printing or paper converting industries.
- Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of Supervisory, coaching, and training practices.
- Professional, clear communicator.
- Analytical ability.
- Highly organized.
