Paint & Flooring Associate

Langley, Canada Atlantic Paint Full time

**We are looking to hire 2 Paint & Flooring Associates**

**OVERVIEW**:
Associates are the lifeblood of Atlantic Paint & Flooring. Often the first point of contact with customers, much of what associates do and say will become the lasting impression of the customer’s experience.

Atlantic Paint & Flooring supports two fundamental needs that arise in the lives of homeowners/renters as well as small businesses. For the homeowner/renter, they are looking to bring their home to life and need help to either do it themselves (DIY) or to have a professional do it for them (DIFM). Whether they’re preparing to sell their home, recently moved in, or simply tired of their home but don’t want to move, repainting or installing new flooring represents one of the simplest and most impactful options. Our team can help them get this done in a very simple, professional manner.

For our small business owners, we help them run better businesses by becoming one of their primary supply chain partners and working to fill gaps in their businesses. We assist with estimating jobs, planning projects, and work directly with their customers as needed. While selling products is how the economics work, the focus on building their business is what generates the demand for our products.

As Associates come to understand the customers’ real job, they develop an intuitive ability to cater to the underlying need and create fulfilling experiences for both them and the customers. This understanding enables high quality internal feedback as well, which improves internal processes, store design, product assortment, and furthers the customer relationship.

**REGULAR RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Supporting/selling paint, wallpaper, flooring, and equipment to inbound DIY, projects, and pro customers.
- Fulfilling customer orders including tinting paint and colour matching as needed as well as delivering and organizing customer deliveries.
- Ensure stores are kept clean and organized including merchandising product displays and shelves.
- Perform post-order follow up calls with customers to ensure they have a positive, lasting experience with the brand.

**COMPENSATION**
- Upon successful completion of the three-month training and development period, Associates earn between $40,000 to $55,000 per year, which is comprised of a base salary as well as bonus pay each pay period (bi-weekly).
- In addition to the income paid, the Associate will receive 2 weeks paid vacation (accrued each pay period) as well as the company’s current extended benefits plan (which is outlined in the Benefits Overview as part of the employment contract), and a $50 per month cell phone credit to compensate for the use of your personal phone for work use as needed.

**It should be noted that the Associate role is a very hands-on position involving physical work such as receiving shipments, merchandising, including regularly lifting 50-pound buckets of paint and other similar inventory items. Depending on the store’s needs, the working schedule may be Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday.e.g. pants instead of shorts), walking in the building without delay, and not entering a building without permission.

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

**Benefits**:

- Dental care
- Extended health care
- On-site parking
- Paid time off
- Store discount
- Tuition reimbursement

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
- Signing bonus

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Langley, BC V1M 3C9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- sales: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person
