Successful job applicants for the telecommunications technician position will receive 6 - 10 weeks of "on the Job" training, working with an experienced telecommunications technician. Our telecommunications training program will provide the successful applicant with the knowledge to complete all facets of the job in the safest and most efficient manner possible. Starting wage is above industry standard and includes the option of joining a competitive benefits program. Our telecommunications technicians are provided with a service vehicle, a smart phone, and the necessary tools and PPE to complete their daily workload in a safe manner. Only when you, your trainer, and management are confident in your abilities will you begin completing installations on your own. Absolutely no experience as a telecommunications technician is required; at MGS Corp. we believe that technical skills, strong customer service and sales experience can be attained through proper training and practice. **Qualifications**: - Must possess a valid Ontario Class G driver's license; - Minimum grade 12 education; - Must be proficient in English (written, oral); - Must have a clean criminal record; - Must have a clean driver’s abstract; - Previous sales and customer service experience is considered an asset. Duties - Termination of Coax/Cat5/Cat6/Fibre Optics; - Reconnect/disconnect equipment and/or services as per company standards; - Install new services, extra outlets and equipment as required; - Complete all assigned installation and service work in a safe and efficient manner; - Promote product lineup to both new and pre-existing customers; - Communicate with customers and co-workers in a professional manner; - Maintain accurate records wherever required; - Learn and adhere to all applicable Health & Safety regulations, both legislatively mandated, and as outlined in company policy; - All other duties, as assigned. Working Conditions - Must have flexibility in schedule to accommodate varying job requirements; - Ensure all aspects of an assigned task are completed in a timely manner and to the highest quality standards; - Required to perform physical work, both indoors and outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions; - May be required, occasionally, to travel some distance to reach work site; - Work at heights and in confined spaces may be required.
