MOBIA is currently recruiting a Telecommunications Outside Plant Technician to join our team

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Preparing and reviewing field-based Telecommunication designs, drawings, materials, cost estimation and specifications to customer requirements of outside plant underground and aerial network facilities
- Performing field audits of utility poles, identifying service provider and cable types, hardware, span lengths and attachment heights
- Performing field survey of utility underground infrastructures identifying service provider and cable types and hardware where applicable
- Creating design details in software such as Bluebeam
- Participating in meetings with key-stakeholders to ensure the successful outcome of a project
- Preparation and submission of design packages as relates to the outside plant
- Attending site meetings, site visits and field inspections with clients, municipal authorities, utilities & various project stakeholders as required
- Reviewing as built and record drawings to ensure compliance with original design
- Planning the routing path of all new cables in the field; both on existing and new strand, on existing facilities and proposed new.
- Identifying tree trimming requirements, anchors and poles that need replacement for safety reasons.
- Identifying hydro and telecommunication deficiencies on poles and existing infrastructure
- Working alongside detailers and designers to gather all the information needed to produce the strand package.

**Qualifications**:

- Must have a full and valid Canadian Driver’s License and a clear driving history
- Must be willing to travel throughout all areas of Ontario for up to 8 day rotations
- Knowledge of CSA and/or 2204 standards is an asset
- In depth knowledge of communication construction, as well as outside plant engineering is an asset
- Previous experience in a telecommunications environment is an asset
