Controller

**Hap Transportation Group**is a rapidly growing private trucking and logistics company, delivering dependable transportation solutions across North America. As we expand, we are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting. This is a critical leadership role where your expertise will be vital in shaping our financial infrastructure to support continued growth and operational excellence.

As the Controller, you will oversee all financial reporting processes, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of internal and external consolidated financial statements. You will lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, manage the GAAP audit, and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, including tax filings. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who can step in, take charge, and drive results without needing significant guidance or training.
- **We are looking for someone with a Canadian CPA and at least 10-years of experience including 7 years post-designation.**_

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Oversee the preparation of internal and external consolidated financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Lead the external audit process, ensuring all aspects are efficiently managed.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
- Ensure compliance with ASPE accounting standards and regulatory tax filings.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Provide senior management with insightful financial analysis and strategic recommendations to support business decisions.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions as needed.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- CPA designation is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience with hands-on expertise in financial statement preparation.
- Proven experience managing external audits, with a strong focus on ASPE compliance.
- Experience in both public practice and industry is preferred, with a background in the logistics, trucking, or transportation sectors being a strong asset.
- Experience with tax filings and managing compliance matters.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience presenting financial data to senior executives and non-financial stakeholders.

**Compensation & Benefits**:

- Competitive salary based on experience: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year.
