**JOB DESCRIPTION**
The Assistant Manager will oversee all operations for the XMarket Squamish location and assist the GM in our restaurant operations. This position will report to the General Manager, working in collaboration with the PlantX Operations team. The primary functions of this role are to ensure customer satisfaction, drive growth and profitability, and grow and develop the team and location to meet and exceed targets. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Overseeing all store staff and their respective training and scheduling
- Assisting on the register as needed
- Working with the merchandising team for inventory and product selection
- Ensure the appeal of products and shelving in accordance with planograms, as well as enhancing the overall guest experience
- Maintain product displays, end caps, signage, and visual promotions.
- Manage product storage and rotation activities to reduce spoilage and damages
- Reporting on category performances for merchandising and sales trends
- Collaborating with management on marketing strategies and new product rollouts; ensure fluid implementation of promotions in store, as well as the overall success of events held at the store
- Overseeing customer interactions and promoting the store brand
- Assisting HR with recruitment, development, employee training, and other HR functions as needed
- Overseeing logistics and fulfillment of e-commerce orders out of the store inventory, in conjunction with our Logistics team.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 2+ years working in a retail environment
- 1-3 years of Leadership Experience, with proven ability to coach, train, develop, and manage staff
- Experience in the restaurant industry is an asset
- Business Diploma or equivalent is considered an asset
- Thorough understanding of store marketing initiatives and retail promotional activities
- Understanding of operational logistics related to stock & rotating inventory, ordering, and inbound logistics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills that translate well into maintaining healthy relationships with vendors, customers, staff, and partners
- Ability to set and meet targets and deadlines, with a strong understanding of margins, COGS, merchandising, and budgets.
- Self-starter - must have the ability to work without supervision
- Team Player - must work well with employees and consultants at all levels of the organization, and work as a team to accomplish large projects and day-to-day tasks
