Your primary role is to coordinate, oversee, and facilitate BCHC’s provincial level grant programs that support capacity building for healthier communities. This portfolio largely includes the implementation, management, and administration of our legacy PlanH grant program in addition to supporting some delivery, evaluation, and knowledge exchange activities. With a focus on equity, the goal of all BCHC’s grant offerings is to support capacity building for improved community health and well-being outcomes. Recipients of our grant programs include Indigenous and non-Indigenous governments (in partnership with health authorities and community organizations) for PlanH and Age Friendly grant programs. The benefits of working at BCHC include: - Opportunities for professional development to improve your existing knowledge and passion for healthy communities - Remote work - 6% vacation your first year - Paid health days **Position Links** - Report to the Executive Director, who provides strategic oversight - Work closely with, and receive communications guidance from, the Communications Manager - Work closely with the Evaluation Specialist, who provides overall evaluation expertise - Work collaboratively as part of the BCHC staff delivery team - Work closely with BCHC administrative staff to ensure tracking of grant payments/timelines, etc. - Work to support external partner organizations, multi-sectoral groups which may include Indigenous and non-Indigenous local governments, regional health authorities, school districts, not-for profit and community organizations as part of the administration and delivery of our services and supports**Key Responsibilities & Duties** - Grant Management and Administration (50%)_ - Track inquiries and document ongoing learning and reflections around grant process from a quality improvement perspective; - Provide ongoing communication and support for communities in their learning objectives as part of the suite of supports offered with the grant; troubleshoot any difficulties that may arise; - Ensure reporting and accountability requirements of grants are met by grantees and trouble-shoot any difficulties or issues that arise; - Support knowledge translation efforts to guide and inform provincial learning; - Provide information/knowledge of grants and community needs toward development of recommendations for subsequent grant programs; - Build understanding and knowledge around grant making best practices; - Maintain an online list of current grant opportunities; and - Prepare summaries and briefing materials for reports, program updates, funders, working group meetings, evaluation reports, etc. - Community Engagement (30%)_ Work closely and collaboratively with the BCHC team to: - Support promotion, outreach, and engagement of grant programs and other offerings; - Communicate with grantees though regular check ins, including providing guidance, resource sharing, problem solving support, and enhancing capacity; - Support BCHC staff in developing and delivering community supports (webinars, training, workshops, etc.); - Support partnership development opportunities with Indigenous and non-Indigenous governments, health authorities, community organizations, and a range of stakeholders; - Help to connect communities, Indigenous and non-Indigenous government, and health authority
