Company Introduction:
T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 31 stores across the country: 13 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 10 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.
The Role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Asset Protection, the Data Analyst is responsible for developing, conducting, and managing quantitative and qualitative analyses, as well as producing reports on all related data in asset protection. The Data Analyst will work with large data sets to isolate trends and business opportunities to the Asset Protection leaders, to build solutions and recommendations to drive asset protection and loss prevention improvement.
Major Responsibilities:

- Collect, manage, and analyze data from multiple sources such as financial report, POS transaction, inventory transaction, incident report, etc to support internal integrity investigation
- Conduct in-depth analysis to detect all suspected illegal activities, such as theft or fraud, and provide actionable recommendations for shrinkage control and loss prevention opportunities
- Define risk and safety improvement recommendations of the business and customers
- Develop and prepare reports, dashboards, scorecards, diagrams, and analysis, both scheduled and on an ad hoc basis
- Serve as the expert for all data pertaining to asset protection functions and reports for internal and external compliance improvement
- All other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

- A Bachelors’ degree in Statistic, Mathematics, or other related disciplines
- Possess a minimum 2 years of related work experience in retail industry OR minimum 2 years in accounting
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, intermediate to expert level of Excel
- Demonstrate business planning, controlling and analytic skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to communicate in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset
