We are looking for an Events Supervisor to join our Events Team In this role, you will report to the Events Manager. This is a great opportunity to kick start your career in the Events Industry or gain more hands on knowledge and experience as part of a one of a kind events venue in Edmonton.
The Enjoy Centre is a unique multi-use facility featuring a greenhouse, spa, cafe & restaurant, whole foods, bakery, events department and more Designed to blur the line between the indoors and out, the event spaces at The Enjoy Centre provide the perfect setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions, trade shows, galas, and more.
**The Role**
This is an integral role on our internal events team within the Enjoy Centre.
We are looking to hire highly motivated individuals with great customer service skills to work as Event Supervisors. The Event Supervisor performs a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth operation of the event facility, while delivering service that exceeds our customer/client’s expectations.
**Position Summary**:
The Event Supervisor is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the successful execution of events, acting as the main point of contact for clients, staff, and vendors. This position ensures that event plans are implemented effectively, maintaining high standards of service, professionalism, and coordination during all phases of event operations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Client Relations**:
- Represent the company with a strong leadership presence during client meetings, maintaining professional and consistent communication.
- Conduct “8 weeks out” meetings with clients to finalize event details and contracts.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients during events when the Event Manager is not onsite, addressing concerns and ensuring client satisfaction.
**Event Planning and Coordination**:
- Work with clients to confirm contracts, finalize event details, and create detailed food, beverage, and event procedures.
- Collaborate with the Event Manager to develop structured timelines outlining event duties and responsible parties.
- Assist in managing event details using systems such as Event Temple, All-seated/Prismm, and Google Docs.
- Coordinate with departments, including catering, décor, and setup teams, to ensure seamless operations.
**Team Leadership and Supervision**:
- Lead the event team during events, supported by the event lead, ensuring tasks are executed according to plan.
- Supervise event setup, ceremony, dinner, and other key milestones, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to event procedures.
- Train new onsite event staff, fostering a knowledgeable and efficient team.
- Oversee staff time management, ensuring accurate punch-in/out records and scheduled breaks when the Event Manager is unavailable.
**Operational Management**:
- Monitor kitchen operations, menu planning, and catering staff during events.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of food, beverage, and event service procedures.
- Oversee the opening and closing of events, ensuring all aspects are completed according to standards.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience in event management, coordination, or a similar supervisory role.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team, providing clear direction and support.
- Familiarity with event planning tools such as Event Temple, All-seated/Prismm, and Google Docs.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Experience with food and beverage operations, including menu planning and kitchen coordination.
- Expertise in training and onboarding event staff.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with poise and professionalism.

Pay: $24.00 per hour
