Wage: New Employees - $19.00 per hour. Returning Employees - $20.00 - $22.54 per hour
- Shift: Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from April to the end of June then
- transition to a 40-hour work week at the beginning of July to the end of August.
- Term: April 2025 - September 2025

- We are currently recruiting a temporary, part-time (weekends only from mid-April until late June) and full-time (July and August) Parks Labourer I for our Parks and Open Spaces department.
What is the Opportunity?
- The Parks Labourer I report directly to the Leads of Parks and Open Spaces. This position is required to operate Parks and Opens Spaces-related equipment such as mules, gators, push mowers, lawn trimmers, brooms, rakes, and various other hand tools.
What will you do?- Participate in hands on training and orientations of parks related equipment.- Perform a variety of labor-related duties requiring experience in the execution of related assignments, as assigned by the supervisor.- Operate mules, gators and hand tools for specific Park areas such as turf, playgrounds, cemetery, and multi-ways.-
- Provide first responses to a customer request in the field or relay information to the appropriate supervisor.- Assist full-time Parks staff with assigned tasks as required.
What do you need to succeed?- Current high-school student or high school graduate, available to work part-time every weekend from April - June, then full-time for July and August with the occasional weekend work requirement.- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with less than six (6) demerits is required.- Able to work outdoors regardless of weather, continuously use hand tools and lift up to 20 kilograms.- Experience operating small equipment and hand tools is an asset.- The ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends once working a 40 - hour week.- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently.- Ability to work with various groups of people both internal and external.- First Aid certification is an asset.- Competitive salary- City of Leduc Employee and Family Assistance program (EFAP)- Free parking- Annual City of Leduc recreation pass, including access to free drop-in programs
