Set-up Technician

Cycle North Powersports in Prince George is looking for Motorcycle, ATV, Side x Side, Snowmobile and Power Equipment PDI Technicians to join our team.

The Set-Up Technician is responsible for inspecting new vehicles when they are delivered to the dealer and servicing new units when they are purchased by customers. He also makes minor repairs or adjustments to place the vehicles in salable condition performing the as assigned in compliance with dealer and factory standards. In addition, this person will assist in cleanup and inspections of trade in units, and general maintenance and cleaning of the shop area. This person will be detail oriented, committed to the highest quality standards, and dedicated to doing the job right the first time.

Following are more specific duties of the Set-Up Technician:
Inspect new vehicles arriving from OEMs for obvious damage and missing major components.

Record discrepancies and sign or otherwise acknowledge an acceptance slip for each vehicle delivered. Inspect vehicles for loose or misaligned items such as trim and accessories.
- Replace defective items according to specifications, using hand tools. Start the engine and drive the vehicle to test steering, brakes, transmission and the engine operation. Activate power equipment such as radio, horn, lights and directional signals to ensure specified operating standards.
- Compare serial numbers of incoming vehicle build requests against units to ensure the proper unit is being serviced.
- Install optional equipment specified by the customer or Manager.
- Install and assemble standard components such as handlebars or front wheels.
- Check tire air pressure and condition of tires.
- Check cooling system level and level of anti-freeze protection.
- Inspect all lubrication levels and add proper lubrication as required.
- Prepare, charge, and install batteries for units being delivered.
- Wash, dry and polish units to remove preservative coating and road film accumulated during transit.
- Assist with service write-up and tagging customer units.
- Load and unload customer units.
- Clean the area around service dept. & showroom.

Clean shop floors and shop benches on a continuous basis and pressure clean floors when directed by the Service Manager.

We are open Tuesday to Saturday from 8.45 am to 5.30 PM. Benefits available after a 90 days probationary period.
