**Summary of the role**:
If you like cars and have an eye for all that's right and wrong with everything on wheels, this could be the role for you. It's a cool gig, visiting different dealerships each day, talking with lots of interesting people, and working outdoors. The Manheim Field Automotive Inspectors are responsible for providing complete vehicle condition reports onsite at our client's locations.

This position will require the incumbent to drive to various dealerships with an assigned territory and may be required to work from the assigned auction location to provide operations support. The incumbent assures accurate documentation of the overall customer vehicle condition by inspecting vehicles for damage, previous paint repair, structural repairs and or damage, missing, aftermarket incorrect parts and mechanical problems, using specialized tools or software.

**Key Accountabilities**:
**_Territory Management: _**
- Work closely with our sales team and clients to inspect and photograph client inventory for sale
- Manage scheduled inspections requests within territory
- Report daily and weekly activity to team on assigned dealerships
- Work closely with the District Manager, Dealers Services Rep, and Inventory Coordinator for that territory to help increase volumes and customer service

**_Condition Report Writer: _**
- Verify vehicle information - Identify damage, previous paint repair, missing / incorrect parts, and mechanical problems
- Prepare and complete all necessary documentation to complete a condition report
- Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer’s lots safely
- Accurately capture vehicle information and condition to support the remarketing of client consigned vehicles such as VIN recognition, proper notation of all options and equipment, proper odometer reading, parts pricing using Mitchell Collision Estimate Guides, recommended labor actions / severity / pricing, fluid level checks / evaluation, etc.
- Complete inspection process and data entry in appropriate timeframes
- Ensure digital photo collection with specific criteria guidelines
- Solid team player and work closely with teammates, field sales, and customer care to create a superior customer experience
- Partner with our clients to inspect vehicles at their location. There will also be responsibility to ask for more inventory when at Clients location

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous body shop experience and/or mechanical experience and/or estimating experience, considered an asset
- Understand basic NAAA frame/structure guidelines as well as common vehicle condition flaws and how to identify them
- ASE certification or background in automotive repair cost estimating preferred; ICAR Certifications, considered an asset
- Good communication skills
- Strong technical aptitude
- Motivated and ability to work with remote supervision
- Good organizational skills, high sense of details, with a desire to learn
- Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record
- Able to operate a manual transmission vehicle
- Basic computer software skills
- This role may require working overtime and travel overnight
