Belleville, Canada Belleville Police Service Full time

The Belleville Police Service Auxiliary is a group of volunteers who work with regular force Police Constables to ensure the safety and well-being of the City of Belleville.

The Belleville Police Service Auxiliary Program is made up of 15 members. The Auxiliary Program supports and assists the police service with general patrol, R.I.D.E program, community events, and emergency call-outs. Auxiliary members have no police authority - they must rely on the same arrest provisions as regular citizens. There are some instances when an Auxiliary member may have the authority of a Police Constable. This can occur in an emergency situation, or when the Belleville Police Service requires additional strength to assist with a special event.

Further, the Auxiliary Program members show their support for the Belleville Police Service and the community by volunteering at city-wide special events. Since the unit was formed in 1985, the Auxiliary Program members have participated in a variety of fund-raising activities.

The Auxiliary Program is a volunteer position, and it is unpaid. Successful applicants will complete the Auxiliary Recruit Training Course. The time commitment to this program is twelve (12) hours per month (patrol, community events, ride alongs, training).

Applicants for the Belleville Police Service Auxiliary Program must meet or surpass the following minimum requirements and standards:
Be at least 18 years of age.
