For over 30 years, Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton has offered high-quality child care programs to young children and their families. We operate full-day early learning and child care centres for infant, toddler and preschool children, as well as before and after school programs for kindergarten and school age children in 27 locations throughout the Greater Hamilton Area.
We pride ourselves on being a leading child care organization, committed to high-quality programs that are inclusive, accessible, and promote learning and growth. We are proud to operate and provide child care in Hamilton.
If you are passionate about the well-being of children and families and are interested in governing an organization that positively impacts the lives of families in the Hamilton community, we would love to hear from you.
Board members should have a knowledge of the Hamilton community and a demonstrated interest in early learning and the child care sector.
Board meetings are held on the last Thursday of the month in September, November, February and April from 9am to 12pm. The Annual Members Meeting is held on the first Thursday of June.
Board Members are also expected to join one committee of the board, with committee meetings
typically occurring 4-6 times per year.

- Communications
- Government Relations
- Fundraising
- Social Services
- Prior Board Experience (preferred but not required)
