The Assistant Plant Operations Manager is responsible for assisting the Plant Manager in managing total plant operations and delivering superior customer satisfaction by driving results and exceeding expectations in the key areas of safety, service, quality and cost.
**Major/Key Accountabilities**
- Manage the work of all production employees - oversees production and shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods
- Provide hands-on leadership as a working manager, responsible for mentoring and coaching all employees and managing employee relations issues
- Support plant administration to ensure compliance to established policies
- Directly responsible for all employment decisions at the facility
- Responsible in consult with Plant Manager for the cost and yield performance of the Plant in partnership with the overall P&L of the Plant
- Support and implement cost control initiatives and process control within the Plant
- Continually review operations activities, including local transportation activities to maintain compliance with all Federal and Provincial laws
- Drive Safety improvements (Zero Harm) across the Plant
- Ensure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the Plant and in accordance with the Commercial Organization, Global Supply Chain
- Deliver best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the Plant while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards that are necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitability.
- Ensure compliance through teamwork for all Standard Operating Procedures within the Plant
- Implement and manage Lean opportunities to effectively eliminate waste
- In partnership with Plant Manager, provide leadership to Plant staff to effectively recruit, train, develop, evaluate, motivate, delegate and moni tor their activities
- Drive efficiencies in asset utilisation through proper transportation scheduling, dispatch, & driver management while meeting customer expectations.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelors in Operations/Supply Chain or related field
- Six Sigma/Lean certification preferred
**Experience**
- 5+ years in a plant supervisory role in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with private fleet management/transportation is helpful
- Strong customer focus orientation
- Expert people management capability including non-exempt production workforce
- Demonstrated success in delivering strong employee relations
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience managing safety performance and programmes
- Understanding of supply chain practices and metrics

**Responsabilités majeures/principales**
- Gérer le travail de l'ensemble des employé(e)s de production - superviser les horaires de production et d'expédition en fonction de la disponibilité des matières brutes et des produits finis
- Assurer un leadership rapproché, être responsable du mentorat et de l'accompagnement de l'ensemble des employés et gérer les problèmes de relations en lien avec les employé(e)s
- Soutenir l’administration de l’usine afin de garantir le respect des politique s en vigueur
- Directement responsable de toutes les décisions d’emploi en lien avec l’installation
- Responsable, en collaboration avec le/la directeur(trice) d’usine en matière de coût et de perform ance du rendement de l’usine, en partenariat avec le service général des profits et pertes de l’usine
- Soutenir et mettre en oeuvre des initiatives de contrôle des coûts et des contrôles de processus au sein de l’usine
- Examiner en continu les activités liées aux opérations, notamment les activités de transport locales afin de maintenir la conformité avec les lois fédérales et provinciales
- Diriger les améliorations à la sécurité (zéro blessure) au sein de l’usine
- Veiller à l’exécution uniforme de toutes les PEN au sein de l’usine et en conform ité avec la chaîne d’approvisionnement mondiale de l’organisation commerciale
- Assurer une meilleure gestion opérationnelle et des économies de coûts supérieures au sein de l’usine, tout en maintenant les norm es essentielles en matière d’utilisation des matières brutes et de qualité nécessaires à la satisfaction de la clientèle et à la profitabilité de l’usine
- Assurer la conform ité grâce au travail d’équipe pour toutes les procédures d'exploitation norm alisé
