**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Plant Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations. The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall operations of our manufacturing plant, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality goals are met. This role requires strategic leadership, strong operational management, and a commitment to fostering a safe and productive work environment.
**Duties**
- Plan, organize, direct, and optimize day-to-day operations to meet or exceed production targets.
- Increase production capacity, flexibility, and efficiency while minimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure production output, product quality, and on-time shipping meet customer expectations.
- Allocate resources effectively and utilize assets to achieve optimal results.
- Implement operational strategies aligned with company goals and initiatives, providing clear direction and focus.
- Monitor plant operations and implement corrective actions as necessary to resolve issues promptly.
- Foster a trusting and collaborative relationship with the workforce, recruiting, managing, and developing plant staff.
- Cultivate a positive work environment through effective communication across teams and functional areas.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for waste reduction, process improvements, and cost savings.
- Uphold plant safety procedures and chair the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JH&SC).
- Develop systems and processes to track productivity, standards, metrics, and performance targets to maximize return on assets.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by leading process enhancements and achieving measurable goals.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and production management concepts.
- Develop strong stakeholder relationships with internal and external partners involved in the manufacturing process.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff to enhance their skills and performance within the plant.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing management role, preferably as a Plant Manager or similar position.
- Thorough understanding of business and management principles including budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources.
- Knowledgeable in safety, quality control, productivity enhancement, demand planning, inventory management, and relevant certifications.
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to foster accountability and lead by example.
- Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills, coupled with exceptional communication abilities.
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing (LM) and 5S is considered an asset.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive results.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational efficiency.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
