**Overview**

The Saskatchewan Research Council’s Geoanalytical Laboratories, Geochemistry section has an opening for a Lab Assistant. This position is part of a larger team process to conduct laboratory analysis for our mining and minerals clients.

**Accountabilities**
- Prepare samples for analysis and perform a variety of laboratory tests using standardized lab procedures
- Wash, clean, and store various forms of labware according to cleaning procedure
- Generate work lists from Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and perform all required record-keeping & documentation
- Observe established safety regulations and comply with all SRC health and safety policies and procedures

**Skills**
- A strong work ethic, reliability and a willingness to take on varied tasks as required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive environment with high attention to detail
- Accurate and efficient data entry skills
- Good organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines such as turnaround times (TAT) and holding requirements

**Requirements**:

- Must be at least 18 years of age
- The use of safety equipment (foot protection, lab coats, gloves and safety glasses) is required and will be provided
- Some heavy lifting (up to 30 kg) and working in a dusty environment will be required
- Extended work hours (up to 12 hours per day) and occasional weekend work, as required
- Previous lab experience is an asset, but is not required
- ** All necessary training will be provided**

This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
