Be responsible for grocery shopping, meal planning, preparing nutritious meals for a diabetic, arthritic, cancer patient. Keeping kitchen clean, doing dishes, laundry and general housekeeping to maintain a clean, healthy home environment. Help with hobbies and crafts and maintain a quality of life for the senior.

Drive/take to and from Doctor, Dental, Medical, hair and hospital appointments. Drive/take to and from activities and interests. Administer medications as well as keep an accurate account of medications, times given etc, and re-order medications on time making sure everything is up to date. Be able to administer medication by injection as well as pill form.

Give bedside and personal care which may include bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and exercising. Taking care of the needs as they may arise for caring for a palliative care patient end of life care, as directed and working with Doctors, Nurses and Health Care Workers.

A valid BC Drivers license or the ability to get one as soon as hired would be an asset as the home is in a rural setting without public transportation.

The applicant can choose to live in or out, if living in, a private room with adjoining private bathroom will be provided.

Requirements: Be already inside Canada as a Canadian citizen or have Permanent Residency in Canada.

Post Secondary of at least 6 month Caregiver course or equivalent, is an asset. Having worked as a paid full time Caregiver or related occupation for a minimum of 1 year including 6 months with the same employer during the past 3 years is an asset.

Computer skills to be able to search for and prepare a print out menu that can be posted weekly on the refrigerator is an asset.

Being fully vaccinated with boosters is an asset.

Pay: From $22.90 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
