You are a strategic and business-savvy senior Learning & Development professional. You have the ability to execute at both the tactical and strategic levels and you lean on your best-in-class customer service focus to exceeding customer’s needs and redefining the value of what a Learning & Development Specialist can do to bring people together for personal, professional and leadership development. You’re a teacher and a life-long learner yourself and you’re passionate about organizational development and ensuring the effective design, delivery, and evaluation of learning and development programs.
**Training Planning, Development and Design**
- Conduct learning and development needs analyses through information gathered at meetings, requests by managers and through formal needs analysis
- Curate strong content for learning programs that fit Canfor’s culture and strategy; stay current and well read on trends to select and build content
- Develop training materials, multimedia visual aids, e-learning, and other educational tools
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) platform, validating course set up and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline or automate processes to continuously improve service delivery
**Training Execution and Delivery**
- Deliver dynamic and interactive training sessions for employees, both virtual and in-person
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of virtual instructional programs, including the use of technology
- Manage the Canfor College learning session schedule and enrollment process
- Design of marketing and available training opportunities to employees
- Manage Canfor College intranet pages
- Provide accurate, consistent, and timely responses to learning requests, and training requests
- Project budgets and budget breakdowns of all Canfor College related training
- Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills
- Leverage Learning Management System to manage content and monitor program impacts and reporting
- Manage the MentorMe program
- Manage learning initiatives & platforms
- Manage the apprenticeship learning management system
- Develop training materials, multimedia visual aids, and other educational tools
- Assist in the execution and delivery of diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives
**Training Administration**
- Support virtual training sessions, including the creation of classes in the Learning Management System, sending training calendar invites, creating survey feedback evaluations, tracking attendance, and sending follow-up resources to participants
- Support in-person training sessions, including booking venues, printing materials, catering and any other required training logistics
- Track completions of our leadership programs and send certificates to participants
- Assist with administration of talent assessments (i.e. DiSC, 360 process, LeaderGene, etc.)
**Professional Development and Networking**
- Keeps current on learning and development trends, issues, and methods
- Initiates ideas for improving processes, policies, or procedures to maximize performance
- Partners with Operations, Human Resources and different management groups on learning and leadership initiatives
The salary range for this position is: $80,000.00-$100,000.00
