R&d Technician

OVERVIEW

Join the Canada Yogurt team and help grow Canadians’ love of yogurt We’re seeking an R&D technician to support innovation, renovation and HMM projects on Canada Yogurt based at Saint Hyacinthe, QC. You will work on a variety of Yoplait adult and kid products at all stages of development from early prototyping to manufacturing scale-up.

This role will require strong technical skills, critical problem-solving skill, and the ability to collaborate with a multi-location team in the US and Canada. You will build partnerships with a passionate, highly engaged cross-functional team and develop technical expertise on our yogurt portfolio.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

**Design, coordinate and execute experiments**: bench top and full scale manufacturing including consumer testing; analyze experimental data and extract learning
Build and leverage internal and external network (i.e. manufacturing facilities, suppliers) to support and execute work; will lead and own portions of work on projects
Provide broad support to a specific project, and also support other Canada yogurt RD team members
Connect and collaborate within cross functional teams
Create product formulations, specifications, and documentation in GMI systems (gPLM, Eclips, ELN)
Sample analysis for analytical, shelf-life, and sensory evaluation
Lead plant trials and start up in manufacturing environments.
Development, procurement, management, and shipment of materials

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

2 year degree or High School Diploma with 3-5 years of directly relatable experience
Ability to travel to the US and other regions within Canada
Basic computer/technology skills (Office Suite, other computer programs)
Comfortable in processing (plant) environment
Basic understanding of food safety and human safety
Strong problem-solving skills& bias for action
Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to a team environment
Agile, ability to flex across teams within the platform as work needs shift
Effectively manage multiple projects as various stages of feasibility and development

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous work experience in a similar field (Food product development experience/Laboratory experience)
Strong aptitude for technology; highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with mínimal supervision
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Interpersonal ability to build relationships at all levels within the organization to advance your work
Proven work record of attendance and performance
Ability to assess and solve technical/mechanical problems
Effectively manage and prioritize multiple competing priorities.
Experience working with global teams

Soutenir un projet spécifique à travers toutes les étapes de développement et aussi soutenir d’autres membres de l’équipe R&D de Canada Yogourt
Collaborer avec des équipes pluridisciplinaires
Créer des formulations de produits, des spécifications et des documents dans les systèmes GMI (gPLM, Eclips, ELN)
Analyser des échantillons pour acquérir des données analytiques, de la durée de vie et de l’évaluation sensorielle
Diriger des essais en usine et participer aux premières productions a l’usine
Développer, acquérir, gérer et expédier des matériaux ou échantillons

QUALIFICATIONS MINIMALES

Diplôme de 2 ans post-secondaire ou diplôme d’études secondaires avec 3 à 5 ans d’expérience directement pertinente
