Collections Specialist

**Purpose**:
Reporting to the Manager of Partner Support & Collections, the Collections Specialist will be responsible for collecting and managing files that are 1+ days’ delinquent and/or identified as high risk. Acting as the first point of contact for customers, the Collections Specialist will deliver an exceptional customer experience and, wherever required, provide guidance and financial solutions to customers to revert their accounts to a positive financial status.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ability to prioritize and manage a high call volume, inbound and outbound while delivering customer interaction and maintaining a professional approach
- Evaluate the client’s current financial situation and match to the appropriate solution by following company guidelines
- Provide financial education and guidance to customers to ensure their financial health with regards to their Progressa loan
- Establish payment plans to retain active customers who are in financial hardship
- Address and resolve customer concerns, issues, or complaints
- Achieve and/or exceed defined monthly targets
- Capture & communicate daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested by management
- Other related duties as required or assigned
**Required experience, knowledge, skills, and availability**:
- 1+ years in the Financial Services industry with a focus on collections
- Experience in first party and/or early-stage collections
- High level of assertiveness and strong resilience
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills with an aptitude for multi-tasking
- Ability to be a team player
- Basic knowledge on insolvencies (CC, CP and BK)
- Intermediate MS Office and Google Suite skills
- High school education or equivalent
- Open availability to work varying shifts between 8am to 9pm Monday to Friday, with a minimum of two evening shifts per week
