**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
The Operations Manager is a position for our corporate office, on the Distribution team. This role will be remote, based in Calgary, to be able to spend time in our 3PL Western Canada DC (future site to be in Calgary, Alberta).
In this role, you will be responsible to oversee the results of our 3PL DC’s day-to-day outbound operations and special projects. In addition, you will have responsibilities supporting the Transportation and.CA Operations teams on the west coast.
You will be one of the key contacts for stores, the FSC team and the West Distribution Centre. You will play an essential role in day-to-day DC outbound operations and procedure controls and support the Senior Manager, Distribution in addressing service failures and managing recovery efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing and supporting our 3rd party DC Operations - including working a nontraditional work schedule at times to support the DCs during open shifts and supporting peak volume periods including evenings, and weekends. Act as the key point of contact with the West DC specific to troubleshooting and escalation.
**WHAT YOU'LL DO**:
Distribution Operations:
- Responsible for monitoring and measuring the day to day of our Outbound Distribution Operations, and coordinating efforts when volumes are above capacity or urgent priorities, or projects need to be addressed
- Ensure accountability with our 3PL DC to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) through means of monitoring daily volumes, analyzing and assessing data through various reports and understanding workload capacities
- Provide updates and SLA results with cross-functional partners, and gain alignment as needed
- Monitor accuracy of Outbound forecasts and provide recommendations to DCs and Manager based on trends
- Track department KPIs and provide recommended changes in strategies based on the learnings.
- Responsible to provide context for monthly financial results for West DC Outbound Operations tied to Handling line on the P&L and driving cost saving initiatives through effective measurement and monitoring of results
- Creating data driven reports to share with our internal teams, and drive for improvement in results month over month, year over year
- Manage and maintain Weekly/Monthly Dashboards, summarize results and findings for management and proactively leverage findings to address risks and opportunities
- Perform monthly DC audits and publish results and actions as required
- Leading special projects within the West DC and cross functinoal business partners as required
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives to drive results and increase capacity and profitability
- Drive the development, implementation, and documentation of essential processes within your areas of responsibility
- Support the development, implementation, and documentation of essential processes within your role
Transportation:
- Key point of contact for west coast store call outs and afterhours transportation support
- Collaborate & support as needed, providing vacation coverage and backup
- Ensure carriers are meeting their contractual SLAs and action plans are in place as needed.
- Accountable for driving excellent client service for our stores, and addressing any failures in a timely and methodical manner
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives to drive results and increase capacity and profitability
- Responsible for costs, service level agreements and performance metrics to identify and resolve problems to achieve efficiencies
- Driving cost saving initiatives through effective measurement and monitoring of results and costs
- Responsible to monitor the correct metrics are being used to report on drivers behind the numbers in finance close meetings
- Effectively support various transportation & compliance projects and initiatives, as needed
- Responsible for producing and summarizing various daily, weekly, and monthly reporting
dotCA Operations:
- Fill in as the back up to the Assistant Manager, dotCA Operations including promise date maintenance, merge windows and holds on global inventory
- Liaise with carriers on adhoc communication and issues
