Geophysical Data Processor-full Time Position

The successful applicant will join ESG’s Mining and Geotechnical Services Department. The Geophysical Data Processor will be responsible for providing 24/7 data service to clients around the globe. This individual will be required to have experience in mining and geotechnical data processing and to take initiative in trouble shooting various issues. This position requires someone who is punctual, organized, patient, adaptive, and can conduct some draft report writing.

**Duties and responsibilities include**:

- Perform micro-seismic data processing from a variety of different mining sites.
- Participate in some support of developing reports for mining clients.
- Create, maintain, and update auto report pre-sets.
- Identify and submit bugs using Bugzilla.
- Ensure that daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and bi-yearly reports are submitted on time.
- Adopt lean management principles to initiate more efficient processes.
- Trouble shoot issues regarding processing, reporting, or client complaints.
- Provide on call technical support to different clients when needed.
- Will be required to work on various shifts (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am), including weekends, stat-holidays and **night shifts** (10pm-6am).

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- College and University Degree (Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Physics or related field is an asset).
- Computer background is considered an asset.
- Comfortable performing repetitive analytical tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
- Computer hardware/electrical instrumentation proficiencies are an asset.
- Ability to process vague, abstract verbal and written instructions to create effective plans, etc.
- Proven skills to interact effectively with volunteers to direct workflow, assess performance and assign duties.
- Ability to problem solve, answer questions and evaluate results of performance.
- Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs at the same time.
- Excellence in English writing and speaking.
- Spanish speaking and writing skill will be considered an asset.
