Job Description: Head of Department for Toronto Engineering College (Film and Theater Division)

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Department to lead the Film and Theater Division at our esteemed Engineering College in Toronto. As the Head of Department, you will oversee programs such as Film, Theater, and Journalism Instruction, Acting for Film & Television, Film & Media Production, Music Composition, and Theater Art-Technical Production. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of film and theater education, foster industry partnerships, and contribute to the growth and success of our institution.

**Responsibilities**:
Leadership and Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Film and Theater Division aligned with the college's mission and objectives.
Provide effective leadership and mentorship to faculty members and support staff within the division.
Set departmental goals, establish performance metrics, and monitor progress towards achieving them.

Curriculum Development and Quality Assurance: Oversee the design, development, and review of programs and courses in various film and theater disciplines, including Film, Theater, and Journalism Instruction, Acting for Film & Television, Film & Media Production, Music Composition, and Theater Art-Technical Production.
Ensure that the curriculum aligns with industry standards, emerging trends, and technological advancements in film and theater.

Academic Excellence and Student Support: Promote academic excellence by fostering effective teaching practices, research, and professional development among faculty members.
Support and mentor students, ensuring they receive a high-quality education and practical training in their respective film and theater disciplines.
Foster a culture of creativity, diversity, and career development within the division.

Industry Engagement and Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals, production companies, theaters, and media organizations to enhance internship, cooperative education, and employment opportunities for students.
Collaborate with external stakeholders to develop industry-aligned projects, film screenings, theatrical productions, and networking events.
Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in the film and theater fields to ensure program relevance and student preparedness.

Budgeting and Resource Management: Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure responsible financial practices within the Film and Theater Division.
Identify and secure funding opportunities, grants, and sponsorships to support divisional initiatives, research projects, productions, and infrastructure enhancements.

Job Summary:
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $15.50-$39.27 per hour
