If so, do not miss this opportunity**About the job**: In this role, you will:
- provide specialized advice and expertise to support resolutions and the development of ministry policy related to land use planning in the Far North
- participate in ministry land use planning and development projects
**PLEASE NOTE: This position may require overnight travel to remote field locations in the province, including remote areas in the Far North.**
- Note: This position is located at 435 James St S, Thunder Bay, however alternate work arrangements may be available to work from MNR office locations in proximity to the Far North.
**What you bring to the team**:
**Planning and Policy Expertise**:
- You have experience with land use planning concepts and methodologies
- You have experience with program policies, resource management planning processes and operational practices
- You have experience identifying effective policy development strategies
- You have experience with information management for geographic related information including, database maintenance, design and structure and mapping tools
**Project Management Skills**:
- You can implement and support a large volume of program, policy and planning projects
- You can work cooperatively within the work unit, across the ministry and with other ministries and partners to achieve group and ministry goals
**Communication and Interpersonal Skills**:
- You can translate technical and specialized language, concepts, processes and information into terms and messages easily understood by a variety of audiences
- You can lead meetings and workshops related to land use planning
- You can prepare technical reports and various other forms of correspondence
**Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills**:
- You can review and assess existing policies and practices to create recommendations and formulate new ideas
