Site Health and Safety Coordinator

**Responsibilities**
- Implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with MOL, Metric and client requirements.
- Coordinate and communicate with the owners and general contractors safety teams.
- Attend project specific safety meetings with the owners and general contractors safety teams.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and standards; ensure proper documentation is maintained.
- Collection of all health and safety documentation pertaining to the project, and ensure required parties are receiving the documentation.
- Facilitate safety meetings, workshops, and training sessions on-site to enhance employee knowledge of health and safety protocols.
- Prepare and conduct Safety Toolbox Talks and Safety Notification Talks.
- Investigate incidents thoroughly and effectively, and then respond appropriately as required, including communicating to, training and following up with supervisors and site personnel. This shall include verifying that Incident Reports are completed and submitted on a timely basis.
- Collaborate with management to create a culture of safety by promoting awareness and best practices among all staff members.
- Maintain company emergency equipment inventory (i.e. first aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc.)
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to occupational health and safety.
- Perform other safety related duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Valid G License required.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations.
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate formerly known as Health & Safety Representative or currently known as Joint Health & Safety Committee Member, as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act/Regulations.
- Post-secondary school diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field of study.
- NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer Certification) is an asset.
- Understanding of, accident investigation, workplace inspection and job hazard analysis is preferred.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate is an asset.
- Willing to actively participate in continuous professional development throughout the course of employment.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
