**About the Municipal District of Bighorn**:
The Municipal District of Bighorn No. 8 is a rural municipality located in a beautiful natural setting. A community of unique communities, the MD is characterized by ranching and other agricultural uses, industrial uses, low impact tourism facilities, hamlets, and large tracts of undeveloped crown land reserved for forestry activities. **Summary**:
Reporting to the Supervisor of the Agriculture, Environment and Parks, the MD of Bighorn Parks Worker performs a variety of maintenance services to municipal sites.

**Hours of Work**:
Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM
Seasonal position with a start date of May 5th, 2025 (weather dependent) and a finish date of August 29th, 2025, with a possibility of 1-month extension.
**Salary**:
Starting at $29.00 per hour
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Inspect and maintain outdoor amenities such as green spaces, playgrounds, and trails.
- Mowing and trimming of grass in park and playground spaces.
- Operate various equipment to perform work such as ride-on and push mowers, weed trimmer, gas powered hand tools, shovels, rakes, trucks and trailers.
- General landscaping tasks and weeding.
- Garbage and recycling collection, dog waste bag refills.
- Maintain all related equipment and perform minor repairs.
- Regular cleaning of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections and maintenance.
- If trained, may be required to operate equipment such as a skid steer & chainsaw.
- Other duties as determined by the Supervisor.
- Assist other departments as assigned.
- Participating in safety meetings and training as part of the MD’s Health and Safety program.
**Qualifications**:
- High School Graduate, experience with general landscaping tasks, operating and maintaining mowing equipment, trimmers and general hand tools is an asset but not required, we’ll provide all necessary training.
- Physically able to perform medium lifting, up to 50lbs, be on your feet for multiple hours per day, and labour tasks outdoors for extended periods of time.
- Able to work outside in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable with working alone and able to work effectively with others.
- Effective and courteous communicator with supervisor, co-workers and members of the public.
- Confident and approachable with excellent customer service skills.
- Positive attitude and able to demonstrate initiative.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license, acceptable driving record and successful criminal record check.
