We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our thriving team. This is a great opportunity for those individuals looking to advance, full-time in their trade of choice, while living and enjoying the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.
**Responsibilities**: In support of the manufacturing, production and service operations of the company ensure parts and materials required for production, service and general operations are procured in time for production requirements while minimizing lead time for cash flow purposes.
**Occupational Duties Include;**
1. Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Coastal Craft Yachts' business objectives, considering factors such as cost, quality and delivery timelines.
2. Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts and issue Purchase Orders. Continuously assess supplier performance, manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues that may arise.
3. Purchasing Process Optimization: Streamline purchasing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. Implement best practices in procurement and maintain accurate procurement records.
4. Materials Planning and Inventory Management: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to forecast material needs, ensure an adequate supply of components and optimize inventory levels. Monitor inventory turnover and implement measures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
5. Cost Analysis and Negotiation: Conduct cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and manage price fluctuations. Monitor market trends and maintain awareness of industry developments that may impact procurement.
6. Supplier Performance Evaluation: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance, including quality, delivery and responsiveness. Regularly evaluate supplier performance and implement improvement plans when necessary.
7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including engineering, production, and finance departments to ensure alignment on procurement strategies and requirements. Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide expertise on procurement-related matters.
**Requirements**:
1. Experience: Proven experience of at least 2 years in purchasing or procurement roles, preferably in the manufacturing or marine industry.
2. Diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
3. Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data, interpret market trends and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in using procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
4. Negotiation and Communication: Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers. Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
5. Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute procurement strategies that align with business goals. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
6. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in procurement processes, contract terms and supplier performance evaluation.
7. Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
**Salary**: From $80,000.00 per year
