**The Team**:Building Youth Connections

**The Role**:Employment and Community Connections Facilitator - Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

**What You'll Bring to The Role**:

- Degree/Diploma in Human Services or equivalent lived experience
- 1-3 years experience in working with immigrant youth and/or populations in a community setting
- Culturally competent with an understanding of the immigration process and issues affecting immigrants and refugees including the impact of racism and discrimination of young newcomers
- Multilingual ability or TESL training considered an asset
- Able to provide a clear Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector search and Child Intervention Record Check
- Valid driver's license, driver's abstract and reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
- Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet youth needs
- Current Standard First Aid / Basic Rescuer CPR
- Training in natural supports framework considered an asset

**Tasks & Responsibilities**:

- Design innovative, engaging, low barrier recreation and employment programs that encourage and support successful integration and meet the needs of immigrant youth in Calgary
- Engage with youth and participate in employment, recreational and community-based activities
- Create strong working relationships with stakeholders combined with research on immigrant youth, determine needs of population
- Deliver programs with a culturally aware and strength-based lens to facilitate self-sufficiency
- Liaise and connect with Community Hub partners to understand and respond to youth needs within and surrounding the Genesis Centre
- Create and distribute engaging collateral for programming
- Provide appropriate referrals to settlement partners and Trellis continuum
- Create and conduct outreach and awareness raising presentations with schools and community-based partners
- Ensure data entry including administrative duties for program are inputted and up to date
- Reduce barriers to access programs by providing transportation and other support when necessary
