**Position**: Wealth Advisor
**Reporting to**: Vice President, Wealth Management
**Overview**:
Reporting to the Vice-President, the Wealth Advisor is a mission-focused, high performing member of our investment team with the skills, sensitivity and personal confidence to liaise with clients. In support of investment sales and client acquisition, the Wealth Advisor will be responsible for the required documentation and communication processes, ensuring timely support to clients and their advisors on their wealth portfolios, including individual pension plans. In harmony with this is an emphasis on satisfying client needs and expectations through exceptional and efficient service. The Wealth Advisor is expected to provide professional, knowledgeable sales, service and financial planning support and will be a critical resource in supporting the growth and service of our client base.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for full cycle investment sales and service on a block of business provided by the corporation and referrals from our advisor team for new sales
- Responsible to lead annual or semi-annual reviews with clients on their portfolios following the firms service standards
- Opportunities to bring new clients to the firm that meet our ideal client definition and grow your block of business
- Provide investment services within the firms service approach and investment philosophy
- Contribute to portfolio management discussions
- Gather client information and prepare financial plans and presentations for clients
- Execute trades, & document client discussions
- Reconcile CRM with client/advisor activities
- Participate in and support the Wealth Team in facilitating the firm-wide investment committee meetings which include agenda items such as: review of portfolio managers, fund selection, investment value proposition and more
- As requested, attend client meetings with an advisor to present investment recommendations and proposals including both sales and service meetings.
- Document notes from client meetings, ensure follow up tasks are completed on client files whether delegated or not to ensure timely completion
- Complete, track and follow up on all new client onboarding and service requests
- Follow up on fund transfer requests and document completion and amounts
- Run reports on client accounts including, suitability, cash position reports, debit balance reports, asset reports
- Portfolio Analysis for new and existing clients, assist advisor team with portfolio analysis and discussion points
- Renew client KYC’s
- Prepare and maintain compliant new and existing client files
- Execute client transactions in a timely manner and follow up as needed
- Identify and follow up on any missing documentation or information
- Collaborate with each client’s professional team to gather documentation as required
- Focus on continuous improvement by bringing innovative and new ideas to improve client experience and workflow amongst the team
- Ensure all transactions comply with privacy, corporate and anti-money laundering standards
- Maintain best practices through professional development and seeking out learning opportunities with our investment dealer
- Follow compliant processes and procedures.
- Update client relationship management system with client interactions and activities.
**Working Relationships**:
**Customers/Clients**: Continuous interaction to contribute to sales process, advise, guide and resolve questions, concerns and complaints.
**Companies**: Ongoing interaction to resolve escalated issues related to customer policies and to maintain up-to-date knowledge of individual company policies.
**Advisor Team**: Ongoing interaction to direct work, exchange information and provide guidance related to client files.
SKILLS
- Workflow management — ability to track clients through the pipeline and identify next steps
- Strong organizational skills with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- Effective planning, prioritization, and attention to detail
- Independent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Time management to meet individual goals and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Skilled in video conferencing platforms
- Experience using client relationship management (CRM) systems
- Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with clients, partners, suppliers, and team members
KNOWLEDGE
- Intermediate understanding of investment products and account types (e.g., RRSP, TFSA, RESP)
- Knowledge of contracts, investment and insurance terminology, products, and carriers
- Understanding of compliance requirements, confidentiality, and privacy obligations
- Familiarity with company policies, portals, risk tolerance processes, and related terminology
- Securities License (required)
- CSC, CIM (required); APM or PM (asset)
- CFP designation (asset)
- Valid Ontario driver’s license for client site travel
