Position: Financial Planning Analyst II
**Job Type**: Full Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Language Requirements: English
Working Conditions: Remote (while classified as remote, incumbent will be required to attend on-site meetings when assigned by Management)
Location: Vaughan, ON
Annual Salary: $65,000 - $75,000
Purpose:
Supports budgeting, forecasting, and decision support for UNFI Canada. Works cross-functionally across all levels of the organization to provide timely and relevant information to business stakeholders.
Supports FP&A in system-related initiatives, including but not limited to: process changes, enhancement, deployment of new technology, business integrations, and conversions; and provides functional oversight, testing, training, and communication throughout the process.
**Responsibilities**:
Analytics & Reporting:
- Responsible for weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and updates to management team and complex reporting processes on key functional KPI's. Owns communication and analysis associated with reporting efforts.
- Articulates impact of analysis, modeling, business decision support on key financial measures (e.g., gross profit, operating margin, days on hand, days sales outstanding, etc.)
- Supports the annual budgeting and forecasting of the assigned business area including variance analyses and sensitivity testing.
- Performs trend and variance analyses; incorporates data from different areas and synthesizes. Findings incorporate cross-functional impacts, trends, and industry news.
- Provides backup support for functions within the department.
Partner in Process Improvement
- Suggests and participates in continuous improvement opportunities undertaken by the FP&A Department.
- Creates reports and other tools for analyzing trends of various customer types, pricing, margin, deductions and internal processes. Recommends solutions and takes action to address issues found.
- Develops and maintains user documentation for system and operational processes and programs. Serves as a reference resource for the user community, especially as it relates to pricing and margin.
- Participates in the design of and User Acceptance Testing for FP&A department requests worked on by the IT department.
Partner in major Projects
- Support on assessing risks and opportunities for business propositions across the cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or a related field and/or equivalent related experience and training.
- CPA or CFA designation preferred.
**Experience**:
- 3-5 years’ experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and decision support
- Demonstrated success in identifying areas for business improvement
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong technical and analytical skills (Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of PowerBI is a major asset)
- Advanced knowledge of PowerQuery.
- Must be self-driven and very motivated.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Leads or directs the work of others across the company, without direct organizational line of authority.
- Able to organize, coordinate, and direct projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, discretion, diplomacy, and judgment.
- Strong teamwork ethic.
