The Financial Analyst will be responsible for monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of financial statements. Furthermore, they will act as a business advisor to Branch Managers to assist in improving the success and profitability of each business unit.

**Responsibilities**:
- Preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliation, maintenance of accounting records in conformity with ASPE, and assist with month-end close activity
- Responsible for timely completion of P&L variance analysis on a monthly basis
- Possess strong business judgment and the ability to identify opportunities to improve business processes
- Act as a business advisor to a network of Branch Managers across Ontario, offering training and collaborative solutions to improve the success and profitability of each business unit
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner
- Assist with year-end external audit by preparing and reviewing all audit requirements
- Manage customer rebate programs
- Prepare monthly rent roll for all locations, maintain lease and complete CAM reconciliations
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders throughout the organization
- Support the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of financial reports
- Prepare ad hoc reporting and participate in special projects as required
Qualifications:
**Must Haves**
- CPA Designation with minimum two (2) years' related work experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills to effectively build a positive relationship with team members
- Self-starter who is able to take initiative and work well independently
- Ability to manage tight monthly deadlines and deliver high quality work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information proficiently, and develop alternative solutions
- Organized, detail-oriented, good time management skills, and able to balance multiple priorities effectively
**Nice to Have**
- Working knowledge of Inventory Management
- Working knowledge of BlackLine, SXe, and COGNOS
