**YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE**

We are looking for a **Lab Technician** in #106- 8255 North Fraser Way, Burnaby, B.C. V3N OB9 CAN. Your mission will be to:

- Performs analyses with instrumentation (HPLC)
- Utilize HPLC to determine concentration of desired concentration in the food or supplement sample.
- Ensure that proper extraction methods are conducted on the appropriate samples.
- Maintain chemistry quality control records and procedures for each test.
- Record, and calculate analysis data to produce a report.
- Prepare standards or reagents that are needed for the analysis procedure.
- Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) required to complete job responsibilities.
- Maintain clean working area
- Communicate procedural and operational difficulties and delays to supervisor
- Review batches and respond to out of specification results or questionable data.
- Maintain equipment records in appropriate software systems.
- Adhere to all safety policies.

**YOUR PROFILE**

**Profile**:

- A diploma in chemistry, microbiology or food science is preferred but previous experience is accepted.

**Required skills**:

- This position requires the ability to follow specific instructions.
- A general understanding of the needs of the laboratory is required to avoid delays in sample testing or inaccurate results.
- Excellent verbal communication skills are required to interact with peers and management.

**Management**:

- None

**Work Environment**:

- The incumbent works in the laboratory with proper lighting and temperature control.
- Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials will occur when in the laboratory.
- The incumbent works in the laboratory with increased temperatures near the autoclave and washer.
- The incumbent is required to wear masks, laboratory coat and insulated gloves when working with the media.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds is necessary when loading and preparing samples for autoclaving.
- The incumbent can expect extended time spent in a standing position.

The pay for this role is $20.66 per hour.
