JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
- Receives and resolves routine customer support calls involving system software, hardware and/or operating system problems, maintenance and general inquiries.
- Documents all support calls in the helpdesk ticketing system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Follow established procedures in resolving end user problems.
- Troubleshoots production issues.
- Independently runs routine scripts to fix data problems.
- Writes moderately complex queries to support customer requests for information about their data.
- Escalates and hands off to other areas/teams appropriately.
- On-call responsibilities will exist with a rotation on a weekly basis.
EDUCATION
Diploma or certificate in a Computer Systems related field required. Ideally 1+ years equivalent practical experience in a customer or technical support environment or in software development.
SKILLS
- Strong written and verbal communication and listening skills
- Detail-oriented, strong analytical ability, exceptional troubleshooting skills
TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
- SQL experience required
- Basic PL/SQL and UNIX/Linux experience preferred
- Basic programming skills
- Java
- XML
- Experience with LUA programming language desirable, but not required.
