Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Manager is responsible for supervising Quality Control and Quality Assurance in all aspects of production; ensures compliance to Company procedures and standards in relation to Safety, HACCP and IFS PACsecure, WSIB/OHSA, CFIA/FDA and/or CSA; conformance to general practices and procedures through retail audits or audits of company practices.
Experience with Blown Film Extrusion process is not required, but would be an asset.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Oversee the execution of quality evaluations on standard and routine processes, raw materials and finished products.
- Supervise the process for identification and reporting of non-conformance to known standards; develop/implement corrective action.
- Evaluate and assist in the development of improved techniques for the control of quality, production, and safety.
- Prepare quality report and trends.
- Lead efforts to ensure all internal and external audits related to production are completed above acceptable levels.
- Supervise and regularly review the IFS PACsecure, HACCP and GMP program and documentation as well as conduct training to employees.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives & TPMs.
- Ensure all products and process related documentation is current including formulations, finished product specifications, process flow charts, standard operating procedures, etc.
- Ensure compliance to all applicable regulatory requirements related to products, processes, etc.
- Work with Operations and Customer Service team members to ensure that Customer projects are of the highest quality, accurate and delivered on time.
- Supervise the laboratory technicians to ensure effective operation of the laboratory and its processes
- Maintain the Pest Control program
- Maintain the IFS PACsecure QMS Program, FDA-IMS and Recall & Traceability Program.
- Oversee the Glass Plastics and Chemical Control Program
- Participate in employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, team building and progressive discipline when required.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety, and other standards.
- Understand and comply with all Company Safety Rules and processes.
- Understand and comply with all HACCP, IFS PACsecure and GMP policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Health & Safety Roles & Responsibilities**:
- Ensure that a worker complies with the _Act_ and regulations **(Section 27(1)(a))**.
- Ensure that any equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the employer is used or worn by the worker **(Section 27(1)(b))**.
- Advise a worker of any potential or actual health or safety dangers known by the supervisor **(Section 27(2)(a))**.
- If prescribed, provide a worker with written instructions about the measures and procedures to be taken for the worker's protection **(Section 27(2)(b))**; and
- Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of workers **(Section 27(2)(c))**.
**Additional Duties**:
- Conduct workplace inspections
- Conduct information sessions such as safety talks, meetings, and pre-job briefings.
- Report and investigate all incidents and accidents resulting in injury or property damage.
- Conduct employee orientation and other employee-training sessions.
- Correct any substandard acts or conditions.
- Commend employee health and safety performance.
- Ensure that the worker complies with the established safe work and hygiene practices and complies with the **Health and Safety Program**.
- Implement the **Emergency Plan** when necessary and ensure that workers have been properly trained to comply.
- Perform employee safety observations.
- Regularly evaluate worker performance and immediately provide feedback to each of them.

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
