Line Cook at Fonda Fora
The Line Cook at Fonda Fora is responsible for preparing high-quality food items to create an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to follow recipes and directions precisely, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
The four main areas of focus for Line Cooks/Commis will be:
- **Food Preparation** - Line Cooks must have a deep understanding of cooking techniques, ingredient preparation, and presentation. Following recipes accurately and ensuring consistency in every dish is crucial.
- **Kitchen Organization** - Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment is essential. Proper storage, labeling, and cleaning practices must be adhered to at all times.
- **Teamwork** - Effective communication with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members is integral to the success of our restaurant. Working collaboratively ensures a smooth service and high-quality food.
- **Quality Control** - Monitoring the quality of ingredients and finished dishes is vital. Line Cooks must ensure that every plate leaving the kitchen meets Fonda Fora's standards.
**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
- Ensure the highest quality and presentation of dishes before they are served.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, storage areas, and equipment.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking of kitchen supplies.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Participate in daily kitchen operations, including prep work, cooking, and cleaning.
- Continuously develop and improve culinary skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or similar role in a high-volume restaurant.
- Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Passionate about cooking and creating exceptional dishes.
- Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to thrive under pressure.
- Eager to learn and grow within the culinary field.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual, Seasonal
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
