ROCK Construction & Mining Inc is looking for a competent **Excavator Operator **for projects local to Squamish, BC.

**Job Requirements**:

- Valid class 5 (or higher) driver's license with clean abstract is required.

**Skills & Experience**
- Proven Excavator Operator experience is a mandatory requirement for this role.
- Drilling & Blasting experience - including safe lifting and placement of blast mats.
- Heavy Civil / Construction and / or Surface Mining background is an asset.
- Skilled in safe excavation of various ground materials; particularly large rock.
- Experience of operating equipment in challenging environments.
- Experience in lifting activities and appropriate use of attachements.
- Ability to complete a competency skills test.

**Role Expectations**
- Follow directions and procedures accurately and safely
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Conduct pre-use inspections and document accordingly
- Accurately complete all work reports and maintenance logs
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Hauling and moving materials as necessary
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment
- Confidently identify machine deficiencies and adhere to reporting requirements
- Awareness of pedestrian / plant interface and spotter requirements
- Lifting and placing Blast Mats on loaded blast patterns

**Compensation**:

- Negotiable hourly rate (based on experience) + 10% Holiday Pay
- ROCK offers regular performance appraisals and wage evaluations.
- Travel and accommodations covered by ROCK.
- Excellent benefits package after 3 months.

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift

**Experience**:

- Excavation & Earth Moving Equipment Operators: 3 years (preferred)
