**Position Summary**:
Works one on one and in collaboration with the team to support clients with special needs, Neuro Developmental Disorders, and behavioural challenges. Some of the duties include developing and implementing programs to enhance social and life skills, independence, and participation in recreational activities, community outings, and coping skills. The primary worker will use consistent and positive behavioural management strategies. The primary worker will provide medication administration, supports personal care and hygiene skills for the youth. The worker also completes basic housekeeping tasks to support the children and youth in their home. The primary worker will write plan of care and various reports specific to the youth, be the lead person for the youth they are assigned and attend meetings to share content on youth assigned. The primary worker will be required to conduct training of new hire staff on the team and specifically on your assigned youth. The primary worker will be a support to the Program Supervisor in the overall operation of the home. They will also demonstrate good communication skills and be open to feedback for growth and focus on the well-being of the youth, the home and Bayfield’s mission. Primary Worker shifts varies and includes days, evenings, and weekends in a rotation method.

**Qualifications**:

- A genuine fondness and interest in supporting children, youth and young adults reach their potential.
- Applicant must have at minimum a post-secondary Diploma or Degree in a related field such as Child and Youth Work, Behavioural Sciences, Social Services, Developmental Services
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years experiences supporting children and youth with special needs
- Demonstrated skills in the area of setting behavioural boundaries to manage children and youth with physical behaviours
- Strong and patient personality that enjoys interacting and teaching children and youth with special needs
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to supporting individuals from diverse cultures, experiences and backgrounds
- Ability to work in a team and represent Bayfield and the home
- Must have a valid First Aid, CPR and UMAB (Bayfield will provide UMAB training)
- A valid G-license with a clear driving record and a safe/reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2-Million liability insurance
- A clear and current Vulnerable Sector Police Screening
- Clear Child Welfare Background Check.
