**TEAM**: Nanâtawihowin, Connections to Healing Team

**Job Title**: Nanâtawihowin Youth Program Helper

**Hours**: 20 hours weekly
- The Nanâtawihowin Youth Program Helper will; help plan and support events and activities for youth and will build relationships with and support youth to participate in Red Deer Native Friendship Society programming.

**Program Activities**:

- Support the Youth Program Lead with planned activities
- Help with set up and clean up at each event.
- Help with facilitation of program activities as directed by the Youth Program Lead.
- Support the needs of any Elder or knowledge keeper teaching that day, make sure they have the supplies they need and any comfort or refreshments.
- Help pick up supplies as needed.
- May help with planning future events as requested.
- Help keep statistics on participant attendance and activities for reporting.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with youth is an asset but not required.
- Strong communication skills necessary to confidently communicate with youth.
- Understanding of the medicine wheel is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and negotiating skills and the ability to handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Indigenous and non-Indigenous community resources and related services.
- Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to use various social media.
- Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Records Check.
