We’re looking for a temporary **Youth Settlement Program Manager **who will be reporting to the Executive Director and will provide supervisory support for a team of approx. 15 to 20 employees in the areas of Youth, and School Settlement, to meet set targets for the team as a whole. In addition, this position may also be responsible for some aspects of the program delivery for these program areas.

**A little about what you bring to Care for Newcomers**:

- Thorough knowledge of the settlement process and issues facing immigrants and refugees during their integration process.
- Relevant post-secondary degree or equivalent training and experience, eg AAISA Level 3 Settlement Practitioner Certification.
- Strong leadership skills and managerial experience of leading a large team with multiple disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage own workload and time.
- Strong focus on client service with orientation towards innovation and collaboration
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Red Deer and Central Alberta community services and collateral agencies; awareness of and ability to use appropriate community resources.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the Agency.
- Good communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
- Support Settlement Workers in Schools and Support Settlement for Newcomers through Activities and Programs team (SNAP), to perform client based administrative tasks (scanning documents and attaching to file, file management, etc.)

**A little about what you’ll do**:

- Provide the leadership and mentorship to Settlement Practitioners in Schools who work with the Immigrant Youth and their families ranging from low to higher needs. The Youth Settlement Manager also oversees the performance of Settlement Practitioners regarding data administration and caseload management.

This role also manages the SNAP Program Lead and their team.
- Conduct performance reviews of all staff involved in the above program areas on an annual basis, and more frequently if necessary.
- Recruit and hire new staff and coordinate training for all staff in the Program areas.
- Provide the administrative duties required for the various program areas under management.
- Foster good working relations with School Districts, individual schools, and other community stakeholders to ensure effective programs delivery to our target client groups.
- Budgetary Responsibility: Manage the program area expenditures in accordance with the budgets established by the Agency, and in consultation with the financial management of the Agency. Sign off and approve expenditures within the program areas.
- Provide input for funding proposals.
- Participate in the direction setting and decision making for the overall strategic planning of the Agency.
- Attend and participate in regular management meetings to review budgets, personnel matters, and other issues affecting the Agency as a whole.
- Share the responsibilities of the Agency Leadership in representing the Agency at community events and functions.
- Ensure the program areas adequately record client interactions and comply with the reporting requirements of the funders.
- Strong computer/technical aptitude and ability
- Ability to take initiative, determine priorities and to work with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge of the settlement process and issues facing immigrants and refugees during their integration process.
- Relevant education or work experience in client service, case management, and/or social work.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months

**Salary**: $5,448.00-$5,751.00 per month

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Red Deer, AB T4N 6C2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Leadership: 1 year (preferred)
