We are looking to fill a **permanent full-time position** for an **Accounting and Administrative Technician** at our offices in **Ville St-Laurent**.

Reporting to the **Corporate Controller - Accounting**, your role will be to support and assist your manager in a range of functions by performing various administrative follow-ups and technical accounting tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the accounting department’s daily activities.

**More specifically, the main responsibilities of an Accounting and Administrative Technician include**:
**Accounting-related activities**:

- Assist in preparing sales tax returns (GST, QST, other provincial and U.S. state sales taxes).
- Perform basic tasks related to corporate tax returns.
- Access various government agency platforms to process financial adjustments related to sales tax, corporate taxes, and business licenses.
- Contact various stakeholders to obtain necessary documentation for bookkeeping and compliance with internal controls.
- Prepare various accounting reclassifications for bookkeeping.
- Ensure the preparation of cheque requisitions and payment of certain invoices.

**Administrative-related activities**:

- Plan and organize recurring tasks and create a monthly calendar to monitor them rigorously.
- Draft various documents and/or correspondence from verbal or written guidelines.
- Perform photocopying, filing, scanning, and archiving of documents in digital directories.
- Enter data and assemble reports as needed.
- Sort department mail and follow up on recurring files related to government requirements or internal control needs (e.g. sales tax, corporate or property taxes).
- Regularly contact government agencies to obtain information needed for account reconciliation.
- Verify departmental records and maintain all files needed by the team.
- Provide user support for certain tools managed by the department.
- Assist CPAs with various tasks (tax returns, preparing spreadsheets, producing analyses, etc.).

**Requirements**:

- College diploma (DEC) in administration, accounting, or finance. A relevant combination of diploma (e.g., AEC or DEP) and experience may also be considered.
- 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Has strong organizational and time management skills.
- Shows initiative, rigor, and discretion.
- Is methodical and autonomous.
- Can meet tight deadlines.
- Builds strong interpersonal relationships and works well in a team to achieve organizational goals.
