**We are currently hiring a swing position. A Keying Specialist that will help out in the warehouse.**
**Main Purpose**:
The **keying specialist **is responsible for a wide range of locksmith tasks including padlock assembly, key cutting (laser and engraving), cylinder pinning and core assembly. They ensure that all processes of assembly and key cutting matches appropriately per order specifications using hand tools and other specialized equipment.
The **warehouse associate** is an integral part of our business, and the quality of our product handling is a major asset on our company’s reputation. The main purpose is to oversee the receiving and processing of incoming stock, picking orders and shipping them. The associate must be aware of the importance of scrupulously following all shipping and receiving instructions within the prescribed deadlines.
**Main Tasks & Responsibilities**
Keying Specialist
- Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as quantity, color, dimensions, etc.
- Assemble the locks by positioning the parts per assembly instructions, by hand or with manual or electric tools, such as screwdriver and tweezers.
- Cut, engrave, and stamp keys as required using specialized machines.
- Perform cylinder pinning and core assembly.
- Identify any defective items and handling them according to established procedures.
- Quality verification of products to ensure full functionality.
- Repackage the locks and send the orders out to shipping.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing assembly quota daily.
- Keeping a clean and tidy workspace.
Receiving
- Assist in loading and unloading merchandise from trucks ;
- Inspect, count and verify incoming merchandise against purchase orders.
- Record shortages and damaged goods.
- Process incoming merchandise in the computer system.
- Sort and place merchandise on shelves according to our organizational procedures.
Shipping
- Print and manage work orders for shipments and pick-ups.
- Pick, package, and ship orders accurately.
- Complete waybills and other shipping related documents.
- Usage of third party’s internet shipping program.
Associate
- Maintains safe and clean workplace environment by keeping racks, aisles, and workstations neat.
- Adhere to all safety policies, identify, and report unsafe work practices or conditions.
- Assist in counting of physical inventory and help maintain computerized record-keeping systems.
- Provide assistance to other departments on an as-needed basis.
**Education Requirements**
- High school diploma (required)
- Vocational certificate or diploma in locksmithing (preferred)
**Experience**
- 2 years of manufacturing (preferred)
- 1 year of locksmithing (preferred)
- 1 year of warehouse (preferred)
**Skills And Competencies**
- Good communication, time awareness skills and some mathematics easiness
- Basic computer proficiency is required.
- Dependable and reliable
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Detail oriented with organizational skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail
- Mechanical aptitudes.
- Ability to assemble quality products in a timely manner.
**Physical Demands**
- Constant use of hands to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
- Repetitive movement of fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Ability to regularly lift or move heavy merchandise from 50 to 100lbs.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat during extended hours
- Good vision is important for small details and numbers.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
